How To Listen
The thing that struck me most about this video is?
This lady is def and she doesn’t let that stop her from being great. Even though she is def, she acts like she is perfectly normal and doesn’t have that disability. When I heard her playing the instrument, I never would have thought that she was def, because the music was so magnificent. And when we heard she was def, I thought, “Wow I can’t believe someone that is def could be his great at music because she couldn’t hear what she was playing.
What did I notice most?”
What I noticed most about this video was, that in a way this lady is not def, because she can feel and hear through her heart and the vibrations in her arms. I also noticed that she really got into the music and is very passionate about what she does.
What did I enjoy?
The main thing I enjoyed about this video is that the music was so beautiful and soothing. I really enjoyed being able to listen to her playing and watch her play like she could actually hear the sound coming from those intruments

Community Garden
When i went to the community garden, I was able to interview someone who works at the farmers market.
What's your name?
Fransisco.
How long have you worked here?
6 years.
What is different about the food here rather than food from the store?
Its fresh and strait out of the source, we never pick when the food is not ripe, we let it ripen the pick. There is nothing that we used to speed up the ripening process, it is all ripened by the sun.
Do you encourage people to start there own garden?
If they can go ahead and try, it is always good to start something new and when they do, they know more about what they eat.
What is different from working here, rather than working at a regular store?
There is a different feeling and there is nothing better than being right here where it all happens.
After I interviewed him, I thought about these questions.
1. What struck you about the location you visited? Was it what you expected, or very different?
It was nothing like i expected, I thought there wouldn't be a lot of people there buying things but i was wrong. It was cool being able to see and taste the difference from food here and food at a regular store.
2. Which items were cheaper than you expected? Which were more expensive?
There wasn't one specific item that was cheaper or more expensive, over all it was more expensive.
3. Do you think you will start going to a farmers market more often? Or using a community garden? Or supporting a CSA?
If it was my choice to go to one of these places of a store, i would rather go to a farmers market or community garden because the food there is so fresh and good tasting.
4. How do these locations fit into our essential questions of “Why Don’t People Live More Sustainably?” and “How Can I Convince them to do So?”
The reason it is hard to live more sustainable is because it is much more expensive and they aren't like other regular store, open all day everyday. The way we can get people to try and live more sustainable is by trying to encourage them to change there ways of eating and make a new diet plan.

!School Garden!
When I went to the school garden, I was thinking about some of the questions below.
How well do you think the garden was maintained?
I thought for the most part the garden was maintained okay, but there were plants and fruits that should have been harvested already that were dying. It seemed like the garden was well thought out because it wasn't like a little start up garden, it was a garden that over the years could grow and be successful.
What struck you? Why?
What struck me was that, things were actually growing, that sowed that the seniors really did care to put this dead area to life. When I heard of seniors that started a garden, i thought of a little garden that was on its dying path but it was the total opposite.
Was the garden what you expected?
The garden to me was nothing like I expected, it was full of life and was beautiful.
Do you think the seniors care about the garden?
There are always going to be some that care and some that would let it die if it was there choice. For the most part it seemed like the seniors did care to put this dead piece of land to life, because they were all helping out and having fun with it.
When I got to the garden, I met up with one of the seniors and asked her these questions.
What’s your name? Ashley.
Why do you do this? To learn about the environment around you, the many different types of plants and how to take care of them.
How long have you been doing this? I have been doing this since January.
How do you feel about people starting there own gardens? It makes them aware about there surrounding and it really gets them to think about what they are eating and where it comes from.
Why did you choose this place to put the garden? It was dead and we decided to bring it to life. There was nothing there so we put it to work.

Living a Sustainable Life
What struck me about this show was, one, how much corn is in everything we buy. Two, that people aren’t eating healthy because they cant afford it. I can’t believe that healthy food is growing more and more expensive because there is not much left of it.
I think that people should be encouraged to start a garden and buy from local farmers. It’s hard to live a sustainable lifestyle if we can’t find food that will support us and help us on that path.
We can be the people to change and, maybe start a little garden of our own, or buying from local famers. Whenever you buy food from places like, farmers market we are supporting them and not the big slaughterhouses or the infected food that is being put into stores.
When I was talking to my mom, she said, “I think it is healthier to eat from your own area and that by doing so you are supporting that farmer.” She also said, “It is a good skill for people to be self reliant, so they could start there own little garden and then throughout the years, it will grow and grow so that people don’t have to depend on others as much.” My mom also said, “I think it is exciting to watch things grow and I like to see the rewards of my hard work and efforts.” I agree with what my mom said because I was able to help her build our own garden right outside our house, and it feels good to go outside and pick a fresh fruit or vegetable and now that it has not been contaminated at all.

My Ishmeal
Quote:
"If you raise your hand and say, 'Gee, Ms. Smith, I haven't understood a single word you've said all day,' Ms. Smith is going to hate you. If you raise your hand and say, 'Gee, Ms. Smith, I haven't understood a single word you've said all week,' Ms. Smith is going to hate you five times as much. And if you raise your hand and say, 'Gee, Ms. Smith, I haven't understood a single word you've said all year,'
Ms. Smith is going to pull out a gun and shoot you."
Response:
I think this quote is exactly right and that nothing explains it better. People are taught in schools and at home, to not question authority, but if you don’t ask questions, you can never grow as a person. Here is a quote I found to back this up. “He who asks is a fool for five minutes, but he who does not ask remains a fool forever.” This shows, that we need to ask questions. No question is a stupid question.

Divorce
“Come here boy!” Edna yells to her dog as he comes screaming past her trying to stop, his hair flowing elegantly in the air.
“Good boy, you want a treat? Good boy!” Edna said as she runs inside tripping over the little rocks in her way to grab a dog bone, she comes back outside throws the treat to her dog, and goes back to her gardening. After an hour of sweating and hard work she takes off her pink gloves that look as if they were 100 years old, her finger tips popping out of the tops, little cuts all around them and they smelt like she had just pulled them right out of a garbage can. She walks to her porch, sits down and takes a drink of her ice-cold lemonade, when she hears someone crying. “Hello? Anybody there? Hello?” Edna walks inside and hears a girl crying. She turns around and sees her daughter. “Kelly? Why are you crying?” Edna says in a soft calm tone.
“Rob wants to divorce me,” Kelly said.
“Why would he want to do that? Look at you; you’re beautiful, nice, and sweet. And you’re only 25,” Edna said looking at Kelly’s sparkling green eyes.
“He said, ‘you get in the way of my gang life and I can’t keep taking care of you when you get sick’ that’s why he wants to get divorced,” she said in such a dark tone as if she wanted to go over and drive a knife through his heart.
“Why did you marry this guy again? Don’t answer that. So what are you going to do?” Edna asked. Kelly walks over to the bed and lies down. Her face was pale and starting to turn green, she starts coughing and spitting up blood. You could tell she was sick. “Your sick right?”
“Yeah I am really sick, that’s why he kicked me out today because he was sick of taking care of me, uhuh uhuh!” she said still coughing.
“We are going to call him right now,” Edna said fiercely as she pounded over to the phone. Ring ring ring, “Who the heck do you think you are?” she screamed into the phone! Her hair flying up in the air, like devil horns.
“Who are you? And why are you yelling at me?” Rob said calmly.
“This is your wife’s mother that’s who, who do you think you are trying to divorce Kelly just because she is sick?” Edna yells so loud her voice cracks and she lets out a cough that made Kelly jump. Edna’s eyes now blood shot.
“She isn’t worth wasting my life, I could be out having fun, but no, I have to take care of this sick woman. And I don’t get anything from it!” Rob said now screaming through the phone like Edna.
“Oh my gosh, you really think that going out, partying and being in a gang is better then having a beautiful wife that loves and cares for you? What goes on in that head of yours? She will be better soon and one day you will ask yourself, ‘why did I do that’ and she will be living peacefully with someone that loves her,” Edna explained.
“That’s all good for you but don’t you ever come crying to me one day saying, ‘please take her back I cant handle it anymore’ because I know that will happen one day. My brain functions fine but Kelly’s doesn’t!” Rob said in a very disgusting tone.
“Yes it is good for me, my daughter will be living with me what better can it get?” Edna said in a very stern tone.
“Stop giving me this stupid lecture and if you ever call me back I will do something that will make you regret you were ever living!” Rob said in a really dark and hateful tone. Click, the phone hung up.
“What a jerk! I don’t think we will be calling him for awhile!” Edna said now shaking in fear, her hair now settling down back over her beautiful green eyes.
Looking like she was going to pass out, Kelly starts to cough. “Uhuh uhuh uhuh!” her face now as green as Edna’s eyes. Kelly says half asleep, “What am I going to do?”
“Right now you are going to rest and try to get better!” Edna says as she walks over to Kelly and gives her some blankets. “Its getting late I am going to go to bed now, are you going to be okay?”
“Yeah I will be fine.”
“Alright good night,” Edna says walking up to her bed.
At 1:30 in the morning Edna wakes up to coughing and weird sounds, she runs down stairs to Kelly throwing up, half of her body hanging over the side of the bed. Blood was everywhere.
“I need a doctor,” Kelly tried to squeeze out of her mouth before she let out another load of fluids. Edna runs over to the phone falling over everything in her way.
“Hello, hello, I need a doctor now. HURRY!” Edna said to the medical help on the phone panicking.
“I will be right over!” said the doctor. Edna goes back to the bed and sees that Kelly doesn’t have a lot of time.
“What can I do for you?” Edna asks Kelly running around trying to do things for her. “She is going to die, she is going to die. It’s all my fault,” Edna thought to her self now panting from all the running.
The doctor gets to the house and knocks on the door. Edna runs over to the door and opens it, but by the time they get to the bed they saw Kelly had gone to a better place. Edna falls to the ground crying, rolling in all the blood. She didn’t care, her
daughter just died. The doctor covers Kelly with a blanket; they walk into the other room to talk about what to do.
The whole next day Edna works out where Kelly will be buried. It was Kelly’s wish to be buried on Edna’s land so Edna finds a way to make that happen.
That night Edna goes to sleep crying her eyes out thinking what to do next. She finally falls asleep, but at 3:00 she wakes up to footsteps on the roof. “What could this be?” Edna said as she walks to the window and sees this big van parked outside. She grabs a shotgun and walks down stairs.
“There are five of them and one of me,” Edna whispered to herself while she snuck around the wall and hit one of them across the head with the butt of the gun. As she rolled from room to room she realized that one of them was Rob her daughter’s husband. She yells out to him, “You better get out of my house right now Rob or you are going to regret ever living. Does that sound familiar? Yes it does because you were the dingbat that said it to my daughter! And guess what she is dead so you got your way!” Edna said very ferociously, like she was about to prance on them.
“You better go back to bed before someone gets hurt,” Rob yelled as she jumped from room to room.
“You are the one that’s steeling all my things after your wife just passed away. How about you put everything down and leave me to my peaceful home,” Edna suggested to Rob, still trying to get from room to room. She took one of the men out with one
shot.
“OWWWW you freaking devil. You better not take another shot,” The man that just got shot said when he saw a leg sticking out behind the wall. He picks up his M16 and unloads on her leg.
“ AHHHH is this what real men do now a days? Come into a house of a woman whose daughter just died the day before and taking all her things? You guys are pathetic.”
“Lets get out of here,” Said Rob. They start walking out when there was one last gunshot. Rob hits the ground.
“I told you that you should have left before something happened,” Edna said while she uses all the strength she has to get to the phone and dials 911.

Nissan Leaf
This is the nissan leaf, it is an electric car that runs fully off battery. It can reach a speed of 90 mph and can hold charge for 100 miles. The nissan leaf takes 8 hours to fully charge, but there are going to be stations that will charge the car in 20 minutes, the problem with that is it will only charge 80%. This falls under the technology field.
The Leaf is a cool efficient car that will make it so we don't pollute the earth, but is it really going to make things easier for people? I don't think so because people aren't going to want to wait 20 minutes to get there car charged. There has been a tone of studying and working through kinks with the batteries and they found a way that will make it as fast to charge, that will hold charge and go the speed needed.
This is going to be talked about a little bit but I don't think it will be a huge subject this year. They are going to have to face with all the battery problems and how to get them all to preform right.
